Hey y’all! So, a lot has already happened this week and I wanted to update you guys as soon as I could. I think everyone enjoyed this format in my last post so I figured I would keep doing it. This helps me to process and look back with a smile, so thank you all for keeping me accountable and for being willing to read about my journey. I love y’all!
September 5th, Monday
– Made it to Week 2!
– Asian food day!
– Ate dinner with chopsticks and STRUGGLED
– Had an amazing talk with a teammate
– Wondered about Baptism of the Holy Spirit and whether I had experienced it
– Learned more about Spiritual gifts
– Rain stopped for the first time….then restarted
– Played Skip Bo with Jackie, Annie, Colton, and Faith
– Finally learned how to shuffle bridge cards (Thank you Nana and Papa!)
– Played Hot Seat with my team
– Laughed and talked with my team during team time
– Talked about getting tattoos with the Squad (Sorry Papa! Love you!)
September 6th, Tuesday
Had a rough day so I couldn’t write everything that happened but here’s what I wrote down
– Read Song of Songs chapter 4 and didn’t understand it at first
– Wanted to understand so I prayed and let God lead me through
– Learned about Culture and how to share the Gospel in different parts of the world
– Market Day! The leaders made a real-life scenario of finding food in a crowded, foreign market with cars driving through, pickpocketing, people speaking in other languages and a new kind of currency
– Practiced Evangelizing in a busy crowd
– Realized that it’s hard to talk about God with people who don’t know Him
– Shared food with the squad
– Debriefed about the Market Day with Alumni
– Cried really hard and wanted to go home
– Spent some time alone with God talking about how I felt and listening to Him
– Was prayed over by one of the guys on the Serve Team
– Got back up, praise the Lord
– Was hugged and comforted by my squad mates
– Realized that sometimes I don’t actually believe that God loves me but that He fighting to make me know it
September 7th Wednesday
– Slept really good
– Heard and read a lot about fasting, thinking about trying it out
– Heard a sermon that I felt uncomfortable during
– Leaned in and listened
– Let God know what I was feeling and grew closer to Him
– Felt God calling me to be baptized again and listened
– Walking up to be baptized again was one of the hardest walks I’ve ever made
– Debrief with my squad about the sermon
– Learned about Evangelism
– Left campus!!
– Street Evangelism with a squad mate
– Talked to people about Jesus in a parking lot, Home Depot, Walmart and a vape shop
– Was invited to a church in Georgia and went with squad
– Walked to McDonalds afterwards and ate fast food for the first time in a while
– Sang Karaoke in the van on the way back to campus
– Accepted the treasurer role in my squad
*Please pray for these people, I won’t be giving out any information about their stories but just know that they were comfortable being prayed over
September 8th. Thursday
– Cereal for breakfast!!
– Chloe and Luke’s Birthday
– Sang Karaoke during breakfast
– Squad Session about conviction v. condemnation
– Learned about how to discern God’s voice from the enemy and from myself
– Insurance and Fundraising sessions!! WOOO (it was actually really fun)
– Felt weird being in charge of my own insurance
– Got to sleep in until 9!!!!
– Read Ezra 1 & 2
– Signed the official World Race commitment form with my squad
– Spent intimate time worshipping God together
– Sat in silence for twenty minutes listening to God
– Got my feet washed by one of the team leaders
– Was baptized in the Holy Spirit (I’ll talk more about this later)
– Danced and ran around like a crazy person with my friends during worship
– Realized that God is not a feeling, He is a person and is always with me
September 9th, Friday
– Didn’t want to get out of bed because it was cold
– Felt like Fall, saw colored leaves on the trees
– Read Ezra 3
– Realized that Jesus is the foundation that is, was and will be even when we don’t realize we’re standing on Him
– Ate rice, beans and half an apple for breakfast
– Session about the Sabbath
– Practiced what we learned during a 3-hour Sabbath
– Watched The Chosen episodes 2 & 3 because I heard someone say how cool it was that their best friend (Jesus) had a TV show
– Gained a new perspective on Jesus: He was truly, actually human and felt all that we feel
– Water painted about Matthew 5:16
– Laundry day!!
– No rain for the first time in a while
– Learned about how to serve the hosts I’ll be living with

Love you SO MUCH!! I’ve been praying that you would KNOW God is carrying you through the tough times. It hurts my heart to hear you struggle BUT I know that it’s necessary so that your heart will be prepared to receive all that God has in store. You are an incredible blessing and we are so proud of your desire and willingness to follow after Jesus. ??????
