Hello world! My name is Emma Sargent and I’m here to tell you a little bit about me.

First and foremost: I am insanely excited for Gap Year! I never pictured myself as someone who would ever be able to travel the world spreading the Gospel and yet, here I am. God said, “Go,” so I’m going. One of the things that I am most excited about is probably meeting all the new people and making friends who I will have an eternity in Heaven with praising the Lord. I will get to spend an unforgettable year in beautiful places with people who have the same passion for Christ and wake up every day with purpose.

Continuing on, let me introduce you to my family: I have three siblings, two older sisters and one younger brother. We all get along really well and nine times out of ten I can be caught having the time of my life with them. The other time is when someone steals the last Coke out of the fridge and we all accuse one another. Our parents are equally wonderful and chaotic, giving all of us more love than we could ever know what to do with. I couldn’t have asked for a better family to grow up in and every day I am grateful to have had the childhood that I did.

And now for a few facts about myself: I have a lot of different and unconnected hobbies; from knitting sweaters to “solving” Marvel Universe conspiracies and even sometimes candle making. My most consistent hobbies are reading, painting and waiting for the Texas heat to finally go away so that Autumn can come in. I love wearing sweaters and fuzzy blankets are the best invention ever. I am very involved in both Church and school. This year I was lucky enough to be chosen as a leader for Student Council, Band, Color Guard, TAFE and LifeGroups (Youth Group). Sometimes it can get pretty crazy trying to arrange my schedule but no matter what, God always makes sure that I set aside time for Him each day and no matter when, that time of day is the best time of day.

I’m going to end today’s blog with a small request for any readers: please take time today to pray. Whether it be praise or for help through a personal struggle that you are facing or a prayer for our brothers and sisters in Afghanistan, your prayer is heard and God loves you always.

Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to read this! I hope you have an amazing week and if you feel moved to, please feel free to donate or comment. This is a once in a lifetime journey and I am incredibly grateful that you have decided to join me on this path.

Have a blessed week!

Sincerely, Emma

“For through the law I died to the law so that I might live for God. I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”                                                Galatians 2:19-20
